Programme 2007

All instruction is completely hands-on and student-driven. For beginners, courses primarily center on learning to use various hand tools, finding and developing forms, and simply getting a feel for the stone. Topics often covered informally include different types of stone, various finish textures (pointing, hammering, sanding, polishing), mounting/display options, tool maintenance, and safety. Students can work either organically or with self-made or collected models according to individual preference. For more experienced sculptors, we offer assistance as needed or requested, including use of and instruction in pneumatic and power-assisted tools.
