Modeling in Clay and Plasticene
Learn how to produce a stylized representation of the human head or body by modeling in clay (terracotta) or plasticene! A live model will be present.
The course includes:
--- Demonstration and construction of an armature and stand
--- Sketching, then modeling a larger study of a whole head or body part with attention to skeletal and muscular structures using a cast for reference.
--- Discussion, Critique
Depending on the level of experience, the student can start with small studies of facial features (eyes, nose, mouth & ears), or model directly a whole head or a complete human figure. The sculptural medium (clay or plasticene) is also up to the student's choice.
