Giorgio Atzori Born in Rome, Italy in 1951, Giorgio Atzori has been a professional sculptor for more than 35 years. His formal training includes work at the Istituto dell'Arte di Deruta (The Insitute of Art) in Deruta, Italy, as well as studies at The duCret School of the Arts in New Jersey where he was mentored by Furman Finck, its former Dean, as well as Boris Blei, himself a student of Auguste Rodin. In addition to being an accomplished artist, Giorgio is also an expert mold maker and was commissioned to create the original molds for the 2002 Memoria Project, a marble and granite monument commemorating the victims of 9/11. Given his proximity to Studio Michelangelo, Giorgio often works privately here as a resident artist. Studio focus: modeling & mold making/casting courses; the human figure |
