A native Californian, Randy has worked, and sculpted stone, on several continents. Working as a professional English teacher, he soon developed the habit of including various sculpting stones in his luggage, prompting raised eyebrows in customs offices worldwide. In fact, two of his fondest possessions include two 25kg Altissimo marble riverstones he carted back from a course near Pietrasanta, Italy, to the great consternation of authorities in both Bologne and Amsterdam who knew there had to be more to this than simply stone. He still teaches English (currently at the San Diego Miramar College), and consequently enjoys coffee - a lot.
